What does the Limited Repair Reimbursement Guarantee cover? This guarantee provides for partial reimbursement of certain repairs to inspected elements reported to be in satisfactory condition and eligible under the Terms and Conditions of the guarantee. Some elements of a home may not be reported to be in satisfactory condition. This may mean the element is at or near the end of its service life, needs servicing, needs repair or replacement, or needs further evaluation to determine the extent of repairs needed. These elements are not included in the guarantee, nor are elements that cannot be inspected due to obstruction or other factors. Some defects or conditions may only become apparent when walls are opened up during renovations or when storage or furnishings present during the home inspection are moved at a later date. While these defects or conditions may be unexpected, they are not what the guarantee is intended to address. The guarantee does not apply to new construction.
